Turning Point Recovery Resources announce today their latest addition to the Gainesville - Hall County community. The Gainesville City Council has the leadership and foresight to approve another 48 man facility for Turning Point Residential Recovery to house adult males in a quality facility who are recovering from substance abuse issues.

"Turning Point Residential already operates a successful 24 man group home in Gainesville in addition to Turning Point Counseling Services which also recently expanded into south Atlanta , " said Richard Hamilton President of Turning Point Recovery Resources. Hamilton went on to say, "We currently provide substance abuse services in the form of alcohol & drug counseling, drug free workplace programs, corporate drug screening services and on site screening programs with educational classes."

Chance Castleberry Co-founder and residential program director says, "Many people need the sort of program we offer here at turning point, our focus is on those that want it. Castleberry went on to say "Our passion is to see lives changed, that is our reward."

Taxpayer Cost

The Turning Point program participants are non violent men working in a program of recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. The cost to the state to house a non-violent offender is about $45 per day. "By participating in the Turning Point program participants are not costing the state one penny, and are actually revenue positive. They work, pay taxes, pay child support, and participate in an active program of recovery," stated Hamilton . Hamilton went on to say, "It is easy to see that with both facilities and 72 participants Turning Point is saving the State of Georgia over three thousand dollars a day in tax dollars. That is an annual savings of over one million tax dollars with the added benefit that these residents pay taxes!"

About Turning Point Recovery Resources

Turning Point Recovery Residences was established in 2005 to meet the structured recovery requirements of citizens in Hall County . The success of that program led to the opening of Turning Point Counseling Resources to meet the counseling needs of citizens in both the residence program and for the surrounding fifteen counties in north Georgia . In 2008 we added a separate corporate office and consolidated operations into Turning Point Recovery Resources. We have contracts with various courts and agencies to provide counseling and substance abuse testing services. We are planning to add two more centers in north Georgia in 2009-2010 and have requests from two states outside of Georgia for more residential centers.

People throughout Georgia have found our approach to be direct, honest, and supportive as they recover from various self-destructive habits.
